Chrome Extensions for Lead Gen: The 1-Click Workflow

Chrome extensions turn a 30-minute research task into a 10-second click. Here is the stack of extensions every agency owner should have installed in 2026, plus why LeadHunt is building its own.

The 4 extensions in my stack

1. Hunter.io — email verification

Installed since 2020. Click on any company website, Hunter surfaces the pattern used for employee emails plus a few verified addresses. Best in class for established companies. Free tier: 25 searches/month. Paid: $49/month.

2. LeadHunt (coming soon)

Our own Chrome extension in beta. Shows a floating button on any business page (Google Maps, business website). One click runs the 29-point audit and adds to your LeadHunt CRM. The goal: turn Chrome browsing into passive lead collection. If you are on the waiting list, you will get access in the next release.

3. HubSpot / Pipedrive CRM sync

Whichever CRM you use, install their official extension. One-click logging of emails, calls, and notes straight from Gmail or LinkedIn. Saves 10-15 minutes per day of manual data entry.

4. Calendly / SavvyCal

Generate booking links from any email context without switching tabs. The difference between "I will send you my calendar link later" (loses 30% of meetings) and "here is my link, pick a slot" (closes meetings instantly).

Extensions to AVOID

  • LinkedIn scrapers that violate TOS — Dux-Soup, Phantombuster (questionable), Waalaxy. These can get your LinkedIn account banned.
  • Free email finders with dodgy privacy policies — many harvest and resell your uploaded contacts.
  • Bulk outreach tools in the extension itself — these are usually banned by Chrome Store eventually.
  • Anything with 5+ required permissions for a simple task.

The 1-click workflow

  1. Browse Google Maps for a business category in a city
  2. Click a result, open their website
  3. LeadHunt extension pops up a button "Audit this site"
  4. Click → 29-point audit runs in background → added to LeadHunt CRM
  5. Hunter extension surfaces contact email
  6. Click "Draft cold email" → opens Gmail compose with personalized opener
  7. Calendly extension inserts booking link
  8. Send. Total time: 30-45 seconds.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best Chrome extension for finding emails?

Hunter.io remains the most reliable for verified business emails on known companies. Apollo.io is strong for LinkedIn profile scraping. For local business email discovery, LeadHunt Chrome extension (coming soon) scrapes Google Maps + enriches with SMTP verification in one click.

Are Chrome extensions for lead gen legal?

Chrome extensions that respect the target site terms of service are legal. Most official extensions from established tools (Hunter, Apollo, Lusha) are compliant. Unofficial scrapers that violate LinkedIn TOS can get your account banned. Use tools that work within official APIs when possible.

How many Chrome extensions should I run for lead gen?

2-4 maximum. Too many extensions slow down your browser, fight for overlay space, and create workflow chaos. Ideal stack: 1 primary discovery tool (LeadHunt/Apollo), 1 email finder (Hunter), 1 CRM sync (HubSpot/Pipedrive extension), 1 calendar/scheduling (Calendly).

Can Chrome extensions replace a full lead gen platform?

Chrome extensions are great for ad-hoc research but poor for bulk workflows. For agencies processing 100+ leads per day, you need a dashboard that batches operations. Extensions supplement the dashboard, they do not replace it.
